...I've been asked why we plant trees?

That's Easy, our lives depend on them.

Looking for a way to offset the carbon footprint we Americans all carry?

The Grove is your opportunity!

Is it just a tree?

Yes it is, but if we can get them in the ground by the hundreds of thousands we can change the direction of the coming climate disaster.

A recent article in the Guardian states that planting billions of trees across the globe is one of the biggest and cheapest ways of taking CO2 out of the atmosphere to tackle the climate crisis

Did You Know?

A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gasses that are generated by our actions.  The average carbon footprint for a person in the U.S. is 16 tons, one of the highest on the planet. To have the best chance of avoiding the 2 degree rise in global temperatures, the average global carbon footprint per year needs to drop to under 2 tons by 2050.

A mature tree absorbs carbon dioxide at a rate of 48 pounds per year. In one year an acre of forest can absorb twice the CO2 produced by the average cars annual mileage. A healthy 100ft. tree has about 200,000 leaves. A tree that size can take in 11,000 gallons of water from the soil and release it into the air as oxygen and water vapor in a single growing season.

Lowering individual carbon footprints doesn’t happen overnight. By making small changes and sacrifices in our daily lives, like eating less meat, line drying clothes, and of course planting a tree, we can start to make a big difference.

The actual cost of the tree isn't the issue.

It's the planting and maintenance required.

Urban planners/foresters suggest that planting just one tree costs between $250 - $600

At The Grove we have cut our costs to the bare bones.

For the cost of just two trips to Starbucks per month you can join our efforts.

Can we help the planet?

Can we make a difference?

We'll never know if we don't try.

Will you sit on the sidelines, or will you make a difference?

How can I help?
